2.6.1.2 Intelligent Retry
“Intelligent Retry” is a method that resumes a partially successful fax from
where it left off. If a fax fails in the middle, on a retry the first page will be re-
sent (usually the cover sheet), and then the remaining pages will be sent. This
prevents re-sending of successful pages and reduces the call time of the re-
tries.
For example, a 10-page fax is sent, and it fails while sending page 7. On a
retry, the fax server will send page 1, then pages 7 through 10. If it fails again
on page 9, the fax server will send page 1, then pages 9 through 10.
2.6.1.3 Retry Interval
“Busy” errors are retried after 60 seconds. All other retryable errors are re-
tried after 15 seconds. These values can be customized with the
busy_call_send_retry_seconds and send_retry_seconds respectively, see
4.2.1.1 ICANFax Global .
2.6.1.4 Which Errors are Retried
In general, all normal “call progress” errors are retryable, such as “busy” and
“no answer.” Also all transmission errors are retryable.
