rules.Itprovidessessiontracking,authentication,quotaandusagetrackingfunctions.
PortServer
ThePortServeristhecomponentthatfacilitatesSIP+T.38“VoIPFax”connectionswithmediagateways.Client
softwareinteractswiththeportserverusingHTTPorHTTPSconnections,usingarealtimeprotocolthatisbetter
abletohandledelayscomparedtoapureT.38connection.ThemoretimingsensitiveT.38protocol
isonly
implementedbetweentheportserverandthemediagateway.Althoughclientsinteractdirectlywiththeport
server,theportserverdoesnotmaintainalistofaccounts.Sendandreceiveconnectionsarealwaysinitiatedfirst
betweentheconnectionserverandtheportserver,resultinginaunique“session
id”.Theportserverwillonly
interactwithclientsthatcanproducethissessionid.
HttpsProxy
TheHTTPSProxyisthecomponentthatenablesclientaccesstotheConnectionandPortServerssecurelyacross
theopenInternet.TheHTTPSProxyisanASP.NET2.0applicationhostedonanIISserver.
