Inthisscenario,thefollowingtransformationswilloccur:
● Usersupplies7digits:Dialsassupplied.
● Usersupplieslocalareacode+7digits:Areacodeisstripped,andthesevendigitsaredialed.
To implement this, open the Validation Editor and locate the rule (in the top pane) named “Example
trimareacodefromlocalnumbers.”
Selectthatrule,thenclickthe‘Modify’buttontotheright.
Next, remove the example “999292,” “99614,” and “999665” prefixes by selecting each one and
clickingtheRemovebuttonatthebottom.
Enteryourlocalareacodeinthe“Number”fieldbelow,andclicktheAddbutton.
ClickModifyRule.Thewindowwillclose.
Now, 10 digit numbers supplied to the server will have the first 3 digits trimmed, if those 3 digits are
your local area code. You can test this by clicking the Validate button on the main Validation Editor
interface. Enter some example input numbers, and verify the OUTPUT: listed in the results window is
correct.
